StoryVeda is used by children but owned by parents. This page sets out exactly what we do — and deliberately do not do — to keep that safe.
No advertising. Ever.
Not on the free tier, not anywhere. We do not work with ad networks and we do not transmit the Android Advertising ID.
No autoplay
A story ends and nothing begins after it. There is no next-episode countdown and no infinite feed to fall into.
Nothing for a child to buy
No coins, no chests, no upgrade prompts inside a story. Subscriptions live in the parent's area, behind Google Play.
Children do not have accounts
Every account is a parent account, created by an adult over 18. Children appear only as profiles inside it.
Your data stays yours
Row-level security in the database means one family can never read another's stories, profiles or recordings. No data is sold, ever.
Report anything, instantly
Every story has a flag button. Reports come to us directly, we read them, and we correct or withdraw the story.
Some of our stories are written by a machine. We say so.
Some StoryVeda stories are created with AI, and we would rather say so plainly than hide it. Every one is generated inside our own safety rules and filtered for age-appropriateness before a child ever sees it — no violence, nothing frightening, nothing that declares one family's practice the correct one. Illustration and narration are produced the same way, to the same rules.
Filtering is good. It is not infallible. That is precisely why the flag button exists on every single story, and why a human — not a model — reads what you report.
What we will never write
No violence, no frightening imagery, no religious content that declares one practice mandatory, no photographs of real children, and no medical or developmental claims about your child.
The most sensitive thing we hold.
If you record your own voice so it can narrate your child's stories, four rules apply, and they are not negotiable:
- We ask you to confirm the recording is yours before it can be used at all.
- Your voice is used only for your own family's stories — never for another user, never to train a model.
- You can delete it at any time from Profile → My Voices, and it is gone for good.
- Only the family the recording belongs to can ever hear it.
When family members record stories. Grandparents and loved ones can record bedtime stories through a private invite link. These recordings are made by adults, stored privately for one family only, never published, and deletable by the parent at any time. We never ask a child to record anything.
Voice search is a separate thing and works differently. When a child speaks to find a story, the clip is turned into text so the search can run, and then it is gone. It is not saved, not attached to your account, and not used to train anything.

StoryVeda is designed to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the Information Technology Act 2000 and IT Rules 2021, the Google Play Families Policy and Google Play Data Safety requirements.
