Delete your account

You can remove your StoryVeda account and everything in it whenever you like. No forms to argue with, no retention offers. Here is exactly how, and exactly what happens.

This happens immediately and needs nothing from us.

Email support@thestoryveda.com with the subject line “Delete My Account” and include the email address registered to your account.

We process these within 15 days, as required by India's IT Rules 2021.

This cannot be undone

Deletion is permanent and immediate. There is no grace period and no way for us to restore your stories, your child's profiles or your recorded voices afterwards. If you are unsure, consider deleting only part of your data instead — see below.

What gets deleted

Everything personal to your family is permanently removed:

  • Your parent account and login credentials
  • All child profiles — names, ages, interests, languages, pronunciations
  • Every story generated for your children, including whole series
  • Favourites and reading history
  • Magic Moons, streaks and rewards
  • Gratitude journal entries
  • Love notes you recorded
  • Your recorded narrator voices
  • Story cover illustrations held in cloud storage
  • Your Supabase authentication account

What we keep

Shared meditation audio and prayer content stays in the app. This is library content available to everyone, not personal data about you or your child.

Story feedback and reports you submitted are anonymised rather than deleted, and removed entirely after two years — so we can keep improving story safety without holding anything that identifies you.

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove something. Each of these works on its own:

Questions

Will deleting my account cancel my subscription?

No — subscriptions are managed by the app store you bought them from and must be cancelled there separately, or you may continue to be billed. Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → StoryVeda → Cancel. iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → StoryVeda → Cancel. See your subscription.

Can I get a copy of my data before deleting?

Yes. Ask privacy@thestoryveda.com for a machine-readable copy before you delete the account. Once deleted, we cannot produce it.

I am not happy about how this was handled.

Please write to our Grievance Officer, Aditi Joon, at grievance@thestoryveda.com. Complaints are acknowledged within 48 hours and resolved within 30 days.
