Two different things are being paid for — a subscription and a gift — and they refund differently. Here is exactly how each one works.
StoryVeda subscriptions are bought through Google Play, which means Google is the merchant and Google processes refunds under its own refund policy. We cannot issue a Play refund directly — but we can and will help you get one.
Open Google Play → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history → find StoryVeda → Report a problem. Requests made within 48 hours of purchase are usually approved automatically.
Email support@thestoryveda.com with the email on your account and roughly when you were charged. We will look up the order and support your request with Google. We reply within 48 hours.
Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not refund the current period, and it does not remove your access — you keep everything until the period you paid for ends.
Gifts are paid through Razorpay rather than Google Play, so these are ours to resolve directly.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Code not yet redeemed | Full refund, no questions, within 14 days of purchase |
| Code already redeemed | We cannot refund, because the child already has the stories. Talk to us anyway — we will find something fair. |
| Duplicate or accidental purchase | Full refund |
| Payment taken but no code arrived | We resend the code immediately, or refund in full if you prefer |
| Wrong recipient details | We reissue the gift with the correct details — no charge |
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. Razorpay typically takes 5–7 working days to settle, depending on your bank.
To request one, email support@thestoryveda.com with the gift code or the payment reference.
StoryVeda is free to start, with three personalised stories every month and the whole library, precisely so that nobody has to pay to find out whether it suits their family. If you paid and it did not, tell us — we will not make it difficult.
