A mother, an engineer,
and one restless little boy.
StoryVeda was not built by a studio or a team of designers. It was built at a kitchen table, by one person, for one child who would not go to sleep.
Aditi Joon spent eight years in the Government of India. She is an engineer by training and an MBA by discipline. And then a five-year-old boy undid all of it.
Bedtime became the hardest hour of the day.
Every parent knows the shape of it. The stalling. The one-more-story. The tablet that appears because you are simply too tired to invent another dragon.
She tried what everyone tries. And every night, the same three problems came back.
The stories were nobody's
Flat, generic, interchangeable. Nothing knew his name, his world, or the pace he actually fell asleep at.
The Hindi was for adults
So heavily Sanskritised that a five-year-old could not follow a story in his own mother tongue. That one stung.
Then autoplay started
One video became four. Bedtime stopped being a routine and became a negotiation, every single night.
What if the story was built around the child, instead of the child adjusting to the story?
That question is the whole product. Everything in StoryVeda is an answer to it.
She is not a software developer.
That is worth saying plainly, because it is the most surprising part. StoryVeda was built solo, from home, by someone who had never shipped an app — directing AI tools with the same methodical patience she had brought to eight years of public service.
Every story category, every prayer, every narrator voice was chosen by a parent asking one question: would this actually help at 9pm?
What it became.
A library of a growing library of illustrated, narrated stories. Personalised stories built from a child's name, age, interests, pets and the people they love. Seven languages. Prayers, chants and meditations with their meanings explained. A gratitude journal a child answers out loud. And a crescent moon called Veda who guides all of it.
Every child's day should end in a story, not a screen.
That is the whole mission. There is nothing cleverer behind it.
